What is Spa? Why is it such attractive?

The word SPA originated from a Latin phrase Solus Par Aqua, which means health by water.

Spa is a kind of water therapy to reach balance between mind, body and soul, and maintain mental, physical, emotional and spiritual health through man’s 5 senses (ie. sight, hearing, smell, taste and touch) plus mind.

The therapy is carried out by bringing out certain underwater jets that massage the body by using some features of the water, ie. temperature, pressure, quality and floatage. Modern spa now offers not only stress management but also other treatments such as beauty care, pain-free care and disease healing.

In 1970s, some Germans built KURHAUS in hot spring resort areas for patients’ recuperation (KUR for care and HAUS for house in English). This kind of houses were just built in use of heated moving water to release the muscle ache during the therapy.
